Joe Chamy, President, SumTex Partners, Inc., spoke in favor of the petition <br />Martha Larue, Manager of Paris Retirement Village, spoke in favor of the petition. Ms. <br />Larue stated the residences will have to meet the 55 plus requirement. <br />Jerry Baron, Resident, Paris Retirement Village, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Baron <br />stated he lives at Paris Retirement Village and has lived there for five years. <br />Johnny Brown, Resident, Paris Retirement Village, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. <br />Brown stated he lives at Paris Retirement Village and loves it. <br />Betty Williams, Resident, Paris Retirement Village, spoke in favor of the petition. Ms. <br />Williams stated she lives in unit 1303 and loves living at the Village. <br />Bernice Mace, Resident, Paris Retirement Village, spoke in favor of the petition. Ms. <br />Mace lives in unit 1302 and loves living at the retirement village. <br />Annette Grant, employee, Paris Retirement Village, spoke in favor of the petition. Ms. <br />Grant stated she works at the Paris Retirement Village as the Community Director. <br />The following individuals spoke in opposition. <br />Jerry Newberry, Mr. Newberry expressed concerns over the zoning change. <br />Bob Stephens, 1835 W. Washington, expressed concerns regarding the property. Mr. <br />Stephens stated the property has not been mowed; street has become a dump ground. <br />Property owner has let the property go and looking at history and does see things being <br />done. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Bill Harris, seconded by Benny Plata to approve the change to the <br />Future Land Use Plan Map. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />4. Public hearing and consideration ofand action on thepetition of Sum Tex Partners, Inc. for <br />a change in zoning from a Single Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a Planned <br />Development District (PD -b) Housing Development or Community Unit Development opn <br />Lot 2, City Block 308, being number 1500 West Washington. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />Mr. Joe Chamy, President, SumTex Partners, Inc. spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. <br />Chamy stated he will mow the lot. <br />Martha Larue, Manager of Paris Retirement Village, spoke in favor of the petition. <br />
