July 25, 2005 <br />Page 2 <br />4. Consideration of and action on the petition of Paris Living to grant a variance <br />of Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, Section 9 -601, for a 3.3 foot variance from the <br />side setback on the north end of the structure and a 2.8 foot variance from the <br />side setback on the south end of the structure, on Lot 25, Block 1 of the <br />Gibbons Park Addition, located at 905 E. Polk. The recommendation was <br />made for Paris Living not to pour any more slabs until a survey has been <br />provided to the city. Motion to grant the variance was made by Kyle McCarley, <br />seconded by Rodney Bass. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />5. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Drew Temple to grant a variance of <br />Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, Section 13 -101 c., for a 7 foot variance from the <br />rear yard setback, on Lot 5, Block G of the Johnson Woods Addition, located <br />at 620 Twin Oaks Place. Virginia Miller Black, 650 Twin Oaks Place, wants to <br />know what Mr. Temple's intentions are, how tall the carport will be and will it <br />have sides. Drew Temple would like to build a carport 20'- 21' wide to within <br />3' of his fence -next to the existing garage. The proposal for the carport to <br />connect to the existing roof line and it will be wide enough for 2 cars -not <br />enclosed on sides. It will be built of metal clad in wood with a shingle <br />roof - comparable to the roof on the rest of the house. Drew Temple did not <br />have plans available. According to the plat, there is a utility easement through <br />the property -that could pose a problem. <br />6. Consideration ofand action on the petition of Drew Temple to grant a variance <br />of Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, Section 13 -101 c., fora 7 foot variance from the <br />rear yard setback, on Lot 5, Block G of the Johnson Woods Addition, located <br />at 620 Twin Oaks Place. Motion was made by David Glass, seconded by <br />Rodney Bass to table the variance request until plans are drawn up. Motion <br />carried 5 -0. <br />7. The meeting adjourned at 12:30 p.m. <br />APPROVED THIS 21 ST DAY OF MARCH, 2006. <br />
