MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />CITY OF PARIS - CITY HALL <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2009 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Chairman Terry Christian at <br />12:00 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Terry Christian, Chairman <br />Chester Martindale <br />Kyle McCarley <br />Rick Hundley <br />Allen Moore <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />David Glass <br />C. Also present was Shawn Napier, Director of Engineering, Planning and <br />Development; Robert Talley, Code Enforcement Officer; and Jeanna Scott, Administrative <br />Assistant. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (August 17, 2009) <br />Motion was made by Kyle McCarley, seconded by Chester Martindale to approve the <br />minutes for the August 17, 2009 meeting. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />3. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Jose Herrera to grant a <br />variance of Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, Section 9- 602(5), to modify the required side yard <br />setback on a corner lot from 25' to 4', which would be a 21 'variance, on Lots 9, 10 and w <br />15' of 11, Block 5, S.J. Wright Addition, being number 1864 West Austin. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. The following individuals spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Jose Herrera, 1864 West Austin, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Herrera stated <br />he wants to protect his property. He has had several problems with vandalism <br />where windows were broken out and trash was thrown in his yard. Robert Talley, <br />
