Item No. 13 <br />memorandum <br />TO: City Council <br />John Godwin, City Manager <br />FROM: Randy Tuttle, Assistant Chief of Police <br />SUBJECT: LAMAR COUNTY MITIGATION PLAN <br />DATE: February 15, 2017 <br />BACKGROUND: In 2003 an all- hazard Mitigation Plan was developed for Lamar County. <br />This plan also included the City of Paris and other jurisdictions within Lamar County. The plan <br />is directed at making Lamar County and its citizens safer from disasters by reducing the risks of <br />property and lives from a variety of natural and man -made disasters. This plan has not been <br />updated since 2003. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: The Mitigation Plan was updated locally and submitted to the Texas <br />Division of Emergency Management and FEMA for approval. Lamar County was recently <br />notified the plan had been approved by both agencies. A resolution is required for the City of <br />Paris to adopt the plan. <br />BUDGET: No impact on current budget <br />RECOMMENDATION: Pass resolution to adopt the 2017 Lamar County Mitigation Plan. <br />
