REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 EAST KAUFMAN <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 8, 2017 <br />Present: <br />Linda Knox <br />Skipper Steely <br />Pat Conrad <br />Chris Dux, Chair <br />Leah Rolen <br />City Staff Liaison <br />Cheri Bedford <br />Guests: <br />Kelsy McLaughlin, The Paris News <br />Absent: <br />Sarah Barbee, Vice Chair <br />David Alarid <br />Council Liaison: Matt Frierson <br />The meeting was called to order 4: 01 P.M by Commissioner Dux <br />2. A motion was made to approve the minutes of the January]], 2017 meeting by Commissioner <br />Conrad, seconded by Commissioner Knox, motion carried 5-0 <br />3. Review of design standards, Commissioner Dux and Commissioner Knox gave a report on the <br />following chapters on City of Paris Design Standards: Building Characteristic -Linda Knox, <br />Building Components- Chris Dux <br />4. Consent Agenda items: <br />Discussion and possible action regarding the following structures considered by code <br />inspectors to be in violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of <br />Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures," to <br />determine whether such buildings or structures can be rehabilitated and designated on the <br />National Register of Historic Places, as a recorded Texas Historic Landmark, or as historic <br />property as designated by the City Council of the City of Paris. <br />Commissioner Dux requested Item A be pulled from the Consent agenda for discussion, and send <br />items B. 1244 SE le C. 1070 NE 13' D. 1075 NE 13t' to the Buildings and Standards <br />Commission. Motion made by Commissioner Steely, seconded by Commissioner Rolen, Motion <br />carried S - 0 <br />Item A. Commissioner Dux noted the house is most likely one of the oldest houses in Paris, <br />historically significant, and noted the owner has not expressed an interest in selling the house. <br />Commissioner Steely gave a brief recent history on the house and the owner. <br />After some discussion of condition of the house and taxes due, Commissioner Dux called for a <br />motion for action. A motion was made to remove 623 6th SE from the list for demolition for 180 <br />
