Item No. 10 <br />memorandum <br />TO: City Council <br />John Godwin, City Manager <br />FROM: Bob Hundley, Chief of Police <br />SUBJECT: SURPLUS PROPERTY <br />DATE: March 7th, 2017 <br />BACKGROUND: City Charter Article VII, Section 74 provides for the sale of city property. <br />The city council declares city property as surplus and makes it available for public auction. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: The police and other city departments have accumulated equipment that is <br />in disrepair, obsolete or not able to be used in our daily operations. A local auctioneer will be <br />holding a public auction on March 25th at the police department. <br />BUDGET: There is no adverse impact to the budget, monies generated on city surplus <br />equipment will be deposited in the general fund. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Declare the list of equipment as surplus and authorize the sale by public <br />auction. <br />
