Paris Visitors & Convention Council <br />Board of Directors Meeting <br />January 19, 2016 <br />4:00 pm <br />Members Present: Erik Roddy, Derald Bulls, Mike Patterson, Edwin Pickle, Jeff Martin, Tony Corso, <br />Kenny Dority, Stephen Gerrald, Steve Keywood, Roy Gwinn, Carolyn Patterson, Raju Patel. <br />Staff Present: Ken Higdon, Gina Crawford, and Becky Semple. <br />Erik Roddy called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm. <br />A motion to approve the November minutes was made by Roy Gwin, seconded by Kenny Dority, motion <br />passed. <br />November financials were presented by Jeff Martin. A motion to approve was made by Raju Patel, <br />seconded by Tony Corso. <br />A funding request for the Northeast Texas Classic Car Show was presented. They are asking for $2500. <br />A motion to approve $1000 was made by Jeff Martin, seconded by Kenny Dority, Roy Gwinn obstained. <br />Motion passed. <br />Erik Roddy spoke about the funding for Lamar County Historic Museum. A motion to approve funding <br />for $3500, was made by Mike Patterson, seconded by Tony Corso, motion passed. <br />Erik Roddy also spoke about the Paris Area Arts Alliance and Carolyn Patterson gave examples of the <br />events they help with. A motion to approve funding for $7000 was made by Roy Gwinn, seconded by <br />Mike Patterson, motion passed. Carolyn Patterson obstained. <br />Erik Roddy stated that a committee needs to be formed to help get ideas for entry ways to Paris. A <br />quote needs to be done for design work and check with sign companies for prices. Erik will talk with the <br />Harper's also. <br />Erik Roddy said that the board needs to check into the email that Tony Corso sent, regarding social <br />media help. <br />Erik Roddy stated that we will be having an air show on May 14. A motion to fund $2500 was made by <br />Kenny Dority, seconded by Roy Gwinn, motion passed. <br />Becky Semple showed a sample of the new rack card. She will get an estimate from Kwik Kopy on the <br />price. <br />Becky Semple gave the directors report. She also asked for volunteers for the upcoming events. <br />Erik Roddy stated that the Love Civic Center needs some power poles and gravel, to help increase <br />activity, such as ASA. A motion to approve up to $20000 was made by Mike Patterson, seconded by Jeff <br />Martin, motion passed. <br />
