Paris Visitors & Convention Council <br />Board of Directors Meeting <br />April 19, 2016 <br />4:00 pm <br />Members Present: Erik Roddy, Mike Patterson, Derald Bulls, Mary Lou Coe, Josh Bray, Edwin Pickle, <br />Tony Corso, Jeff Nutt, Steve Keywood, Roy Gwinn, Carolyn Patterson, Raju Patel. <br />Staff Present: Ken Higdon, Gina Crawford, and Becky Semple. <br />Erik Roddy called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm. He welcomed Jeff Nutt to the board. <br />A motion to approve the February minutes was made by Roy Gwinn, seconded by Mary Lou Coe, motion <br />passed. <br />February and March financials were presented by Josh Bray. A motion to approve was made by Derald <br />Bulls, seconded by Mike Patterson. <br />A funding request for ASA Western shoot out was presented. They are asking for $2500. A motion to <br />approve $1500 was made by Roy Gwinn, seconded by Mike Patterson. Motion passed. <br />A funding request for the Balloon Festival was presented. They are asking for $2500. A motion to <br />approve $1400 was made by Derald Bulls, seconded by Mary Lou Coe. Motion passed. <br />A funding request for Texas K9 was presented. They are asking for $2500. A motion to approve two <br />mats up to $1000, if the mats have already been paid then they must provide an invoice. The motion <br />was made by Roy Gwinn, seconded by Mike Patterson. Erik Roddy opposed. Motion passed. <br />A funding request for a Women's Conference was presented. They are asking for $2500. No motion <br />was made. <br />Becky Semple asked that we consider to help fund the reindeer for Holiday in Paris. Edwin Pickle was <br />strongly opposed. Roy Gwinn made a motion to take the request to the Chamber board, Mike Patterson <br />seconded. <br />Becky Semple stated that a donation to Archers for Christ should be made in the amount of $1000. A <br />motion to approve was made by Roy Gwinn, seconded by Mike Patterson. <br />Becky Semple asked that we pay for four rooms for the Texas Stampede. A motion to approve up to <br />$800 in room fees was made by Roy Gwinn, seconded by Mary Lou Coe. Motion passes. <br />Becky Semple gave the directors report. She reported about the upcoming events. <br />Erik Roddy and Ken Higdon will meet with Tony Corso in May about social media. <br />Erik Roddy stated that the City of Paris may help with entry ways to Paris. This will be put on hold for <br />now. <br />
