Call meeting to order - Chairman Dux called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting (April 12, 2017) — Chairman Dux noted the word <br />"he " that needed omitted in a paragraph item 4 -C. Minutes were approved 5 — 0 with <br />corrections. <br />3. Discussion and possible action on the following Certificates of Appropriateness: <br />a. 554 S. Main Street, new construction of detached garage: Clifton Fendley <br />Mr. Clifton Fendley COA was requesting to build a new detached garage behind his <br />house. Commissioner Dux asked about the drawings on the floor plan that was <br />presented. Mr. Fendley held the floor plan was correct. Commissioner Dux asked <br />about the placement of the doors, that there would be a single garage door, and a walk <br />in door, and two garage doors. He asked if there would be a walk through door <br />between the two garage doors? Commissioner Steely asked if the roof would look like <br />shingles but be tin. Mr. Fendley stated that wanted the flexibility of deciding whether to <br />use shingles or standing seam metal roof. Commissioner Dux cautioned Mr. Fendley <br />of the different types of metal roofing materials, and MR Fendley noted that he knew <br />the different types, and a r panel type material would not be used. Commissioner Dux <br />also noted that standing seam is allowed but not all types of structures, and that his <br />architect should be able to help with appropriate design and Mr. Fendley agreed. Mr. <br />Fendley also stated that he would either use clap board, or stucco, and both materials <br />are in keeping with the materials on the existing house. A motion was made to <br />approve the Certificate ofAppropriateness for new construction of a detached garage <br />
