Paris Visitors & Convention Council <br />Board of Directors Meeting <br />February 15, 2017 <br />4:00 pm <br />Members Present: Jeff Nutt, Bryan Hargis, Chad Lee Johnston, Brenda Wells, Cleonne Drake, Jeff Martin, Linda Kapp, Greg <br />Wilson, Mary Lou Coe, Gail Dority, Tony Corso, Renee Harvey, Lalonna West, James Wyatt, and Lisa Walker. <br />Staff Present: Ken Higdon, Gina Crawford, and Becky Semple. <br />Lisa Walker called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm. <br />A motion to approve the November minutes was made by Chadlee Johnston, seconded by Linda Kapp. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />A motion to approve the financials was made by Brenda Wells, seconded by Tony Corso. Motion passed unanimously. <br />A funding request from the Paris High School Basketball Tournament was presented. They were asking for $2500. Becky <br />Semple stated that she rated the funding and they should get $1872. A motion to approve $1872 was made by Tony Corso, <br />seconded by Mary Lou Coe. Motion passed unanimously. <br />A funding request was presented for Denver Pyle Children's Charity- Uncle Jesse. They were asking for $2000. A motion to <br />approve $986 was made by Chadlee Johnston, seconded by Gail Dority. Lisa Walker abstained. Motion passed unanimously. <br />A funding request was presented for the Paris Main Street Wine fest. They were asking for $2500. A motion to approve $2000 <br />was made by Chadlee Johnston, seconded by Brenda Wells. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Greg Wilson gave an update on the bicycle kiosk. He stated that rotary was going to try and give some money and asked that <br />the VCC give $15000. Greg also stated that the Trail de Paris was in need of directional signage. A motion to approve up to <br />$15000 for bicycles was made by Brenda Wells, seconded by Gail Dority. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Becky Semple gave a report on Certified Folder. The board asked that she have them come and give a presentation on March <br />22, 2017. <br />Becky Semple gave the directors report. She reported about the upcoming events. She also stated that we are always in need <br />of volunteers. <br />Ken Higdon stated that the VCC will be looking to hire a sales and marketing person in 2017. The position has been posted on <br />several websites. <br />Chadlee Johnston gave an update on the kiosk committee. The tv has been delivered and they will meet on February 21 to <br />discuss what will go on the video. <br />Next meeting will be on March 22, 2017 <br />With nothing further, meeting was adjourned at 5:03 pm. <br />Respectfully submitted <br />Becky Semple <br />
