Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 19, 2017 <br />Opening: <br />The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:04 p.m. <br />Present: <br />Board members present were Fran Neeley, Connie Dodd, Carol James, Michelle Cowling, Rebecca <br />Umphrey, Daisy Harvill and director Priscilla McAnally. Denise Kornegay was absent. <br />I. Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the March meeting were unanimously approved as presented. <br />II. New Business: <br />A. Author Reavis Wortham will return to the library Saturday, July 1 for a book signing for <br />the first book in his Sonny Hawke series. <br />B. Author Anitra Ferguson will be here Saturday, June 24 to sign her new children's book. <br />III. Old Business: <br />Lincoln Center Local screening demo has been postponed until the May meeting. <br />IV. Presentations <br />A. Budget Report. <br />Spending is on track for this year. There were no budget concerns. <br />B. Statistical Report. Circulation was down by 699 items from March of last year, while <br />visits increased slightly by 54. <br />V. Friends of the Library: <br />No report from the Friends this month. <br />VI. Director's Remarks <br />Landscaping work has started on the front of the library and should be completed this week <br />— weather permitting. The old shrubbery was removed and has been replaced with dwarf <br />red crape myrtles, Italian cypress, and abelia. <br />Exterior repair work is almost complete on the NE corner and north wall of the building <br />where the masonry works was deteriorating. <br />Next meeting — May 17, 2017 <br />Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 4:25 p.m. <br />Submitted by <br />Priscilla McAnally for Denise Kornegay, Secretary <br />
