Budget Narrative <br />vehicle theft by educating the public and law enforcement officers in the area of motor vehicle <br />crimes. 4) Work diligently and relentlessly in the investigation of, and pursuit of, all crimes <br />involving motor vehicles. 5) Enforce all laws relating to the theft of motor vehicles. 6) Assist in <br />the prosecution of all those charged with the crime of motor vehicle theft or related crimes. <br />The Detective will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Detective and shall likewise <br />be subject to the supervision of a Lieutenant within the Criminal Investigations Division of the <br />Paris Police Department and within the Department ?s Chain of Command up to the Chief of <br />Police. The Detective will be subject to such orders as the Chief of Police or his designee may <br />prescribe, not inconsistent with the laws on the State of Texas or the mandates of the Texas <br />Automobile Theft Prevention Authority grant. The Detective shall devote 100% of his time to <br />official duties, unless granted leave by the Chief of Police orhis designee. <br />The Detective ?s responsibilities shall be: <br />1) Assist the Senior Detective in all of operations of the Task Force, as requested. 2) Keep the <br />proper records and provide reports to his supervisor as required. 3) Work with every responsible, <br />legitimate group or agency in a cooperative effort to prevent motor vehicle theft by educating the <br />public and law enforcement officers in the area of motor vehicle crimes. 4) Work diligently and <br />relentlessly in the investigation of, and pursuit of, all crimes involving motor vehicles. 5) <br />Enforce all laws relating to the theft of motor vehicles. 6) Assist in the prosecution of all those <br />charged with the crime of motor vehicle theft or related crimes. <br />Professional and Contract Services: N/A <br />Travel: We are planning to send both Detectives to the week long TAVTI training in Dallas, <br />Texas and Texas Auto Burglary and Theft Prevention board meeting that is routinely held during <br />this conference. This is our only planned travel for this grant cycle. The travel policy for the City <br />of Paris, which will be the travel policy of the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force, is as <br />follows: $0.56.5 per mile.
