MINUTES <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, MAY 1, 2017 <br />5.30 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by <br />Holland Harper, Chairman. <br />A. The following members were present: John Lee, Robert Spain, Jerry Akers, Mike <br />Folmar, Barney Bray and Holland Harper. <br />B. The following members were absent: Chad Lindsey <br />C. Also present were Carla Easton, City Engineer; Alan Efrussy, Planning Manager; <br />Stephanie Harris, City Attorney; Steve Clifford, Council Liaison; Sue Lancaster, <br />City Council; Clyde Crews, Fire Marshal; Triniti Frazier, City Staff; and concerned <br />citizens. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (April 3, 2017) <br />Motion was made by John Lee, seconded by Barney Bray to approve minutes for the April <br />3, 2017 meeting. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />3. Public hearing to consider and take action regarding the petition of Michael Rick for a <br />change in zoning from a Commercial (C) District to a Light Industrial (LI) District, being <br />located at 300 N.E. Loop 286 <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. One individual spoke in favor. <br />Michael Rick, Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Rick stated he <br />currently owns a RV business at 300 N.E. Loop 286. Mr. Rick stated he is in the <br />process of selling his property to a gentleman who wants to sell horse trailer /utility <br />trailers. Mr. Rick further stated the buyer has requested him to request a zoning <br />change to allow the sale of trailers as a legal use. <br />B. No one spoke in opposition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Holland Harper, seconded by Mike Folmar to deny the petition. <br />
