<br />RESOLUTION NO. 99-0]0 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of calling public hearings <br />to give all interested persons the right to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation and <br />appropriate zoning upon annexation of approximately 4,390 acres, more or less; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that public hearings be held by and before the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council at a joint session on the 18th day of <br />February, 1999, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Room, City Hall, Paris, Texas, and by and before <br />the City Council at a special session on the 22nd day of February, 1999, at 6:00 p.m. in the <br />Council Room, City Hall, Paris, Texas; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate that additional public hearings be held by and <br />before the City Council of the City of Paris if more than twenty (20) adult residents of the area <br />proposed for armexation file a written protest of the armexation with the City Clerk within ten (10) <br />days after the date of the publication of the first notice of the public hearings provided for herein; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed service plan, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should be made <br />available for public inspection and explained at each hearing provided for herein, which said plan <br />may be amended through negotiation; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that public <br />hearings be held by and before the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council at a <br />joint session on the 18th day of February, 1999, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Room, City Hall, <br />Paris, Texas, and by and before the City Council at a special session on the 22nd day of February , <br />1999, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Room, City Hall, Paris, Texas; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that additional public hearings be held by and before the <br />City Council of the City of Paris if more than twenty (20) adult residents of the area proposed for <br />annexation file a written protest of the annexation with the City Clerk within ten (10) days after <br />the date of the publication of the first notice of the public hearings provided for herein; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk, Mattie Cunningham, be, and she <br />is hereby, authorized and directed to cause notice of such public hearings to be published once in <br />the newspaper having general circulation in the City and in the territory proposed for annexation <br />not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public <br />hearings, all in accordance with Section 43.052, Chapter 43, V.T.C.A. Local Government Code; <br />and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proposed service plan, attached hereto as Exhibit <br />A, be made available for public inspection and explained at each hearing provided for herein, <br />which said plan may be amended through negotiation. <br />
