"2. Where buildings, balconies and decks are protected by an <br />approved automatic sprinkler system." <br />Section 307.4, Location, shall be amended to add Sections 307.4.4, Permanent <br />Outdoor Firepit, and 3.07.4.5, Trench Burns, as follows: <br />"307.4.4 Permanent Outdoor Firepit. Permanently installed <br />outdoor firepits for recreational fire purposes shall not be installed within 10 <br />feet of a structure or combustible material. <br />"Exception: Permanently installed outdoor fireplaces constructed in <br />accordance with the International Building Code." <br />307.4.5 Trench Burns. Trench burns shall be conducted in air <br />curtain trenches and in accordance with Section 307.2." <br />Section 307.5, Attendance, shall be amended to read as follows: <br />"307.5 Attendance. Open burning, trench burns, bonfires, <br />recreational fires, and use of portable outdoor fireplaces shall be constantly <br />attended until the fire is extinguished. A minimum of one portable fire <br />extinguisher complying with Section 906 with a minimum 4 -A rating or other <br />approved on -site fire - extinguishing equipment, such as dirt, sand, water <br />barrel, garden hose or water truck, shall be available for immediate <br />utilization." <br />Section 308.1.4, Open flame cooking devices, shall be amended to read: <br />"308.1.4 Open -flame Cooking Devices. Open -flame cooking devices, <br />charcoal grills and other similar devices used for cooking, heating or any <br />other purposes shall not be operated located or used on combustible <br />balconies, decks, or within 10 feet (3048 mm) of combustible construction. <br />"Exceptions: <br />"1. One- and two- family dwellings, except that LP -gas containers are <br />limited to a water capacity not greater than 50 pounds (22.68 kg) <br />[nominal 20 pound (9.08 kg) LP -gas capacity] with an aggregate <br />LP -gas capacity not to exceed 100 lbs (5 containers). <br />"2. Where buildings, balconies and decks are protected by an <br />approved automatic sprinkler system, except that LP -gas <br />containers are limited to a water capacity not greater than 50 <br />pounds (22.68 kg) [nominal 20 pound (9.08 kg) LP -gas capacity], <br />with an aggregate LP -gas capacity not to exceed 40 lbs (2 <br />containers). <br />11 <br />
