When a specific product cannot be <br />identified, a fire protection system and life safety features shall be installed <br />as for Class IV commodities, to the maximum pile height." <br />"HIGH -RISE BUILDING. A building with an occupied floor located <br />more than 55 feet (16 764 mm) above the lowest level of fire department <br />vehicle access." <br />"OPEN BURNING. The burning of materials wherein products of <br />combustion are emitted directly into the ambient air without passing <br />through a stack or chimney from an enclosed chamber. Open burning does <br />not include road flares, smudge pots and similar devices associated with <br />safety or occupational uses typically considered open flames, or use of <br />portable outdoor fireplaces. For the purpose of this definition, a chamber <br />shall be regarded as enclosed when, during the time combustion occurs, only <br />apertures, ducts, stacks, flues or chimneys necessary to provide combustion <br />air and permit the escape of exhaust gas are open. Recreational fires and <br />bonfires are types of open burning." <br />"REPAIR GARAGE. A building, structure or portion thereof used for <br />servicing or repairing motor vehicles. This occupancy shall also include <br />garages involved in minor repair, modification and servicing of motor <br />vehicles for items such as lube changes, inspections, windshield repair or <br />replacement, shocks, minor part replacement, and other such minor repairs." <br />"SELF- SERVICE STORAGE FACILITY. Real property designed and <br />used for the purpose of renting or leasing individual storage spaces to <br />customers for the purpose of storing and removing personal property on a <br />self - service basis." <br />"STANDBY PERSONNEL. Qualified fire service personnel, approved <br />by the Fire Chief, whose only duty shall be to perform constant patrols of the <br />protected premises and keep watch for fire. When utilized, the number <br />required shall be as directed by the Fire Code Official. Charges for utilization <br />shall be as normally calculated by the jurisdiction." <br />"UPGRADED OR REPLACED FIRE ALARM SYSTEM. A fire alarm <br />system that is upgraded or replaced includes, but is not limited to the <br />following: <br />• Replacing one single board or fire alarm control unit component with <br />a newer model <br />• Installing a new fire alarm control unit in addition to or in place of an <br />existing one <br />
