<br />RESOLUTION NO. 99-061 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris has been a member of the Cooperative Purchasing Program <br />through the Houston-Galveston Area Council of Governments since October 1, 1990; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on February 15, 1999, Police Patrol Unit No. 1063 was involved in an <br />automobile accident with a DWI driver which totaled the vehicle, resulting in the City of Paris <br />Police Department having an inadequate number of front line emergency response vehicles; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the City of Paris purchase a patrol unit <br />replacement for Unit No. 1063 through said Houston-Galveston Area Council of Governments; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate that Michael E. Malone, City Manager of <br />the City of Paris, be authorized to execute a purchase order for a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria Police <br />Interceptor for a total purchase price of $22,390.06, which represents $11,267.00 recovered from <br />the responsible party's insurance company and $1l,123.06 to be transferred from other City <br />accounts; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the <br />City Manager, Michael E. Malone, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on <br />behalf of the City of Paris, a purchase order with the Houston-Galveston Area Council of <br />Governments for a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor to be furnished by Philpott Ford <br />for a total purchase price of $22,390.06, which represents the $ll ,267.00 recovered from the <br />responsible party's insurance company and $1l,123.06 to be transferred from other City accounts. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of June, 1999. <br /> <br />I <br />i <br />U, ' <br />Charles H.
