Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday June 06, 2017 at 5:15 P.M. in the <br />Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: <br />1. <br />Wendell Moore <br />2, <br />Tyesha Mathis <br />3. <br />John Eyler <br />4. <br />Jason Warwick <br />5. <br />David Ballard <br />The city staff was represented by Asst. Chief Randy Tuttle and City Engineer <br />Carla Easton. <br />In the absence of the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson Mr. Moore called the <br />meeting to order at 5:17pm. A quorum was established with five members <br />present. <br />Mr. Moore moved to item #2 to approve minutes from May 02, 2017 meeting. Mr. <br />Warwick made a motion to approve the minutes and Mr. Eyler second the motion <br />which passed 5-0 <br />Mr. Moore moved to item #3 regarding the discussion and possible action <br />concerning reducing speed limit at 1500 1" NE between Hickory and Center <br />Street. Mr. Tuttle informed members this item was requested to be on the <br />agenda after declining the closure of 1500 1st NE at May 02, 2017 meeting. City <br />Engineer Carla Easton advised that she had been reviewing various ways to <br />change the street to help with reducing speed on 1St NE. Ms. Easton said she <br />would like to work with Boy's Club officials in possibly adding on-site parking. It <br />was discussed also about placing striping on the street and adding an extended <br />curb to the corner of 1St NE & Hickory, if budget allowed, reducing the width of 1St <br />NE. After discussion was complete no action was taken on this item. Members <br />decided to allow Ms. Easton to pursue the improvements discussed. <br />Mr. Moore then moved to item #4 regarding discussion and possible action <br />concerning the installation of a three way stop sign at Pine Bluff and Fitzhugh <br />Streets. Ms. Easton presented members a diagram of Pine Bluff between <br />Fitzhugh and 8th NE which indicated a turn lane would be installed on Pine Bluff <br />between the two streets. Ms. Easton stated there was no traffic control stopping <br />traffic on Pine Bluff between N. Main and 20th NE stating now would be a good <br />time to place the stop signs as the new street is completed. Ms. Easton also <br />stated a crosswalk could be installed at Fitzhugh and Pine Bluff to address <br />previous complaints about pedestrian crossing there. Mr. Tuttle expressed <br />
