<br />RESOLUTION NO. 99-124 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris is the owner of a 1982 GMC School Bus, VIN <br />IGD6PIA2CV595823, which was donated to the City of Paris by the Paris Independent School <br />District in August 1998, for use in transporting prisoners; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, although said school bus is still operable, it could be put to better use by the <br />Texas Department of Corrections; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that said school bus be declared to be surplus <br />property of the City of Paris and disposed of in accordance with state law; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Corrections has expressed a need for said school <br />bus, and it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Paris that said school <br />bus be declared surplus and sold to the Texas Department of Corrections, Buster Cole State Jail, <br />for the amount of $1.00; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the <br />1982 GMC School Bus, VIN IGD6PIA2CV595823, be, and the same is hereby, declared to be <br />surplus property; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the sale of said school bus to the Texas Department <br />of Corrections, Buster Cole State Jail, for $1.00, be, and the same is hereby, approved. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this the 11th day of <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mattie Cunningham, City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />~}~~ <br />a es Corley Hende son, <br />Acting City Attorney <br />
