Regular Council Meeting <br />July 24, 2017 <br />Page 2 <br />Robert Milton — he said he was recently retired, and asked that the COLA be reinstated <br />for retirees. <br />Alice Pinalto, 810 33rd NE — she said she worked for the legal department for 34 years. <br />She said she retired in 2011, and expenses were increasing while money was decreasing. She <br />asked that City Council place this item on an agenda. <br />Charles Whitley, 725 SE 38th — he said he worked for the police department for almost 30 <br />years and would like to get the COLA reinstated. He said retirees had been there several times <br />and received no response. <br />Larry Schenk, 3765 Dawn — he said he served as the city attorney for 6 years and that this <br />would have very little effect on him. Mr. Schenk asked that they consider reinstating the COLA <br />for his colleagues because it was the right thing to do. <br />Ken Higdon, Executive Director for the Chamber, 8 W. Plaza — he expressed his <br />appreciation to volunteers and City staff with regard to the Tour de Paris, balloon and music <br />festival citing the Chamber would not have been able to have these successful events without <br />their support. <br />Ronald Frazier, 1370 NE 7th — he said he was before them last month complaining about <br />high grass and that the City staff had taken care of it and he wanted to express his gratitude. <br />Consent AF-enda <br />Mayor Clifford inquired of Council Members if they wished to pull any items from the <br />consent agenda for discussion. There being none, a Motion to approve the consent agenda was <br />made by Council Member Drake and seconded by Council Member Trenado. Motion carried, 7 <br />ayes — 0 nays. <br />5. Approve minutes from the meeting on July 10, 2017. <br />6. Receive reports and/or minutes from the following boards, commissions, and committees: <br />a. Main Street Advisory Board (6 -13 -2017) <br />b. Building & Standards Commission (6 -19 -2017) <br />7. Receive June monthly financial report. <br />8. Receive June drainage report. <br />9. Receive demolition and code enforcement activity reports. <br />10. Approve RESOLUTION NO. 2017 -028: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 2017 -026 AND <br />
