HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PARIS <br />Oak REGULAR MEETING <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING <br />100 GEORGE WRIGHT HOMES <br />MINUTES OF June 20, 2017 <br />Present at the Meeting: <br />Gary Savage — Chairman of the Board of Commissioners <br />Cassandra Hearne — Commissioner of the Board of Commissioners <br />Dewayne Dangerfield — Commissioner of the Board of Commissioners <br />(came in at 12:58 pm) <br />T K Haynes - Vice Chairman of the Board of Commissioners <br />Sally Ruthart — Executive Director <br />Kim Snow — PHA Inspector <br />Patricia Pridemore — PHA Program Manager <br />1. Meeting Called to order at 12:44 pm on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 by Chairman of the <br />Board of Commissioners, Gary Savage. <br />2. Having three Board Members present, a quorum, Mr. Savage thanked and welcomed <br />everyone to the meeting. <br />3. Citizens' Forum Opened — No one chose to speak; the Citizens' Forum was closed. <br />4. Minutes from the May 16, 2017 — Minutes were approved with a motion made by Mr. <br />Savage and seconded by Mr. Haynes. Passed 3 -0. <br />5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: NONE <br />6. NEW BUSINESS: <br />a. Occupancy Report —14 vacancies in Public Housing. 11 were filed on in the Court <br />System for non - payment of rent last month. Mr. Savage asked if the tenants get another <br />chance to pay? Mrs. Ruthart explained that they have had multiple chances, including <br />repayment agreements, 14 day notices, and even paying in court if they have all of the <br />money. The PHA does not want vacancies; we just want them to pay their rent. This is <br />also explained in the move in briefing and the lease is covered during this hour long <br />process and they are allowed any questions that they may have. Section 8 Program had <br />288 vouchers leased up with 6 still out looking. There are still 114 on the Section 8 <br />Waiting List. <br />b. Financial Report — presented bank statements and charts from the accountant for PH <br />and Section 8. <br />c. PH Operating Funds - June funding was $96,895 but would only allow Mrs. Ruthart to <br />draw down $62,224. <br />d. Mrs. Ruthart presented a letter from a tenant that was removing herself from the <br />Section 8 program. The tenant thanked the PHA and commended us on our program that <br />helped her immensely. <br />
