RESOLUTION NO. 2000-153 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE BYLAWS OF THE PARIS PUBLIC LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD ADOPTING AN ATTENDANCE POLICY FOR MEMBERS OF THE BOARD; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, by adoption of Resolution No. 1820 on August 8,1977, established the Paris Public Library Advisory Board; and, WHEREAS, the functions of said board include making recommendations concerning library services, cooperating fully with public and private groups to advance the best interests of the library, and the management of memorial and gift funds as specified in legal documents pertaining to same; and, WHEREAS, the day-to-day activities of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board are governed by a set of Bylaws duly authorized and approved by the City Council; and, WHEREAS, the Paris Public Library Advisory Board desires to amend its Bylaws to incorporate therein an attendance policy regulating and requiring attendance by its board members, subject to removal thereof; and, WHEREAS, the Board has requested the City Council of the City of Paris to approve said amendment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the current Bylaws of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board shall be and are hereby amended to incorporate therein a new paragraph seven (7), under Officers and Members, to address the issue of attendance by board members, such that said Bylaws shall hereafter include said paragraph seven (7) to read as follows: "OFFICERS AND MEMBERS *** 7.
