RESOLUTION NO. 2000-154 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF WATER AND SEWER IMPROVEMENTS, CURB AND GUTTER, AND PAVING ON LONG A VENUE BETWEEN S. MAIN STREET AND CHURCH STREET; AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR SAID CONSTRUCTION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELA TED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, authorize the preparation of plans and specifications for a project of construction of water and sewer improvements, curb and gutter, and paving on Long Avenue between S. Main Street and Church Street; and, WHEREAS, such plans and specifications have been prepared by the City Engineer, with the title being given thereto of the "Long A venue Water, Sewer, and Street Improvement Project," which plans and specifications are recommended for approval by the City Engineer of the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that such plans and specifications be approved and that such projects be authorized for advertisement for bids; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the plans and specifications for the "Long A venue Water, Sewer, and Street Improvement Project" be, and the same are hereby, approved. Section 3. That such construction projects be advertised for bids to be received after due notice at the office of the City Manager of the City of Paris, City Hall, 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Texas 75460, until 3:00 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2000, at which time said bids will be opened in the Paris Junior College Applied Technology Building, Room 1016,2400 Clarksville, Paris, Lamar County, Texas, and bids will be tabulated and presented to the City Council on the lIth day of December, 2000, or as soon thereafter as possible, for the purpose of letting such bid. Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
