RESOLUTION NO. 2000-157 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE PLANS OF PROPOSED STATE HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT FOR INSTALLATION OF HIGH MAST ILLUMINATION AT U.S. HIGHWAY 82/271 AT PINE MILL ROAD; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of June, 1986, in Resolution No. 86-053, approve and authorize the execution of n Agreement for Construction, Maintenance, and Operation of Safety Lighting Systems Within Municipalities with the State of Texas; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of promoting traffic safety in any practical manner; and, WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation is desirous of installing high mast illumination on U.S. Highway 82/271 at Pine Mill Road, being Federal Aid Projects STP 01 (181) HES, Lamar County, dated November 7,2000; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the plans for the proposed high mast illumination installation be in all things approved and that the Mayor be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the plans for the proposed State of Texas, Texas Department of Transportation, Plans of Proposed State Highway Improvement, Federal Aid Projects STP 01 (181) HES, Lamar County, Install Highway Illumination, US 82/271 at Pine Mill Road, dated November 7,2000, be, and the same are hereby, approved. Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute the plans for the proposed high mast installation as submitted by the Texas Department of Transportation. Section 4. That this resolution shall be effecti ve from and after its date of passage.
