RESOLUTION NO. 2000-159 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A PURCHASE ORDER FOR ONE (1) BOBCAT LOADER FOR THE PARKS AND RIGHT- OF- WAY DIVISION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT THROUGH THE GENERAL SERVICES COMMISSION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Subchapter D, Sections 271.081 through 271.083, Texas Local Government Code, authorizes the State Purchasing and General Services Commission to establish a program by which the Commission performs purchasing services for local governments; and, WHEREAS, Section 271.083(b), Texas Local Government Code, provides that purchases by a local government pursuant to a state contract administered by the General Services Commission satisfies any state law requiring the local government to seek competitive bids; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the City of Paris purchase a new 873 G-Series Bobcat Loader for the Parks and Right-of-Way Division of the Public Works Department through said General Services Commission; and, WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate that the City Manager be authorized to execute a purchase order for one 873 G-Series Bobcat Loader for a total purchase price of $23,286.00; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, a purchase order for one (1) 873 G-Series Bobcat Loader for the Parks and Right-of-Way Division of the Public Works Department, for a total purchase price of $23,286.00.
