RESOLUTION NO. 2000-180 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING SERVICES, SURVEY SERVICES, COST ESTIMATES, AND ENGINEERING STUDIES WITH HAYTER ENGINEERING FOR SERVICES RELATED TO THE WADE PARK, 24TH STREET S.E., AND LAMAR A VENUE DRAINAGE PROJECT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Drainage Committee of the City of Paris has identified and prioritized drainage projects for construction and implementation by the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, one project acknowledged as being of the highest priority is construction of necessary drainage control and mitigation structures to address current drainage problems associated with and adjacent to Wade Park, 24th Street S.E., and Lamar Avenue; and, WHEREAS, in order to identify the most appropriate drainage control methodology in addressing the problems unique to this area, the City Council finds and determines that a preliminary design study, including preliminary design services, survey work, engineering studies and soil samplings, cost analyses of alternative drainage control approaches, and other similar services are necessary before actual design and construction of drainage control structures can begin; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, in conjunction with the City Attorney, to negotiate and execute an engineering services contract with Hayter engineering for preliminary design services, cost estimate services, survey, engineering studies, soil testing services, and other similar services as shall be necessary incident to identifying the various optional approaches to drainage control for those drainage problems identified on property adjacent to Wade Park. Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
