<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-094
<br />
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE VIOLENT CRIMES AGAINST
<br />WOMEN UNIT GRANT NO. WF-99-V30-13420-02; AUTHORIZING THE
<br />EXECUTION OF THE GRANTEE ACCEPTANCE NOTICE; MAKING
<br />OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT;
<br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of
<br />December, 1999, in Resolution No. 99-141, which was amended on the 10th day of January,
<br />2000, by Resolution No, 2000-002, authorize an application to be made to the Office of the
<br />Governor, Criminal Justice Division, through the Ark-Tex Council of Governments for the
<br />Violence Against Women Act grant; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, has issued its Grant
<br />Award entitled "Violent Crimes Against Women Unit" Grant, No. WF-99-V30-13420-02, for the
<br />period beginning December I, 2000, and ending November 30,2001, in the total amount of
<br />$78,594.00, requiring a matching contribution of $26,780.00 in in-kind services; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within forty-five (45) days of the date of
<br />said award, which occurred on June 27,2000; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City
<br />of Paris accept said Grant Award and continue to improve the Violent Crimes Against Women
<br />Unit Project in the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That the "Violent Crimes Against Women Unit" Grant, No, WF-99-V30-
<br />13420-02, for the period beginning December 1, 2000, and ending November 30,2001, in the
<br />total amount of $78,594.00, requiring a matching contribution of $26,780,00 in in-kind services,
<br />be, and the same is hereby, accepted, and the City Council of the City of Paris does hereby assure
<br />the Criminal Justice Division that, in the event of loss or misuse of grant funds, such funds will
<br />be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in fulL

<br />Section 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to
<br />execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Grantee Acceptance Notice, under the terms and
