<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE AUTO THEFT PREVENTION
<br />AUTHORITY FUND GRANT AWARD; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
<br />OFTHE STATEMENT OF GRANT AWARD; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS
<br />AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN
<br />EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 4th day of May,
<br />2000, in Resolution No. 2000-059, authorize an application to be made to the Texas Automobile
<br />Theft Prevention Authority for an Automobile Theft Prevention Grant; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention Authority has issued its Grant A ward
<br />entitled "Northeast Texas Automobile Theft Task Force," No. SA-OI-TOl-09363, for the year
<br />beginning September 1, 2000, and ending August 31,2001, in the total amount of $100,000.00,
<br />requiring the City of Paris to provide $41,775.00 in the form of cash and $12,550.00 in the form
<br />of in-kind services; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within forty-five (45) days of the date of
<br />said award, which occurred on July 21,2000; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City
<br />of Paris accept said Grant A ward and continue to improve the Automobile Theft Prevention
<br />Program in the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That the Automobile Theft Prevention Program Grant entitled "Northeast Texas
<br />Automobile Theft Task Force," No. SA-Ol- TOI-09363, for the year beginning September 1, 2000,
<br />and ending August 31,2001, in the total amount of $100,000.00, requiring the City of Paris to
<br />provide $41,775.00 in the form of cash and $12,550.00 in the form of in-kind services, be, and
<br />the same is hereby, accepted.
<br />
<br />Section 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute,
<br />on behalf of the City of Paris, the Grantee Acceptance Notice, under the terms and conditions and
<br />in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
<br />
<br />Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
