<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING GRANT A WARD FOR "FY 2000-2001 SOLID
<br />WASTE IMPLEMENTATION GRANT"; AUTHORIZING THE
<br />EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. 14310768; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS
<br />AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN
<br />EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 27th day of June,
<br />2000, in Resolution No. 2000-091, authorize an applicatton to be made to the Ark-Tex Council of
<br />Governments, in cooperation with the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission, for the
<br />Municipal Solid Waste Grant Funding for Fiscal Year 2001, Category I: Local Enforcement; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Ark-Tex Council of Governments has issued its Grant Award, entitled,
<br />"Solid Waste Implementation Grant, Contract No. 14310768," for the period beginning September
<br />I, 2000 and ending August 31, 2001, in the total amount of $20,843.00, with the City of Paris
<br />providing $20,871.00 in the form of in-kind services; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City of
<br />Paris accept said Grant A ward in furtherance of the prevention of illegal dumping; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the form ofthe "Solid Waste Implementation Grant, Contract No. 14310768,"
<br />attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor should be authorized
<br />to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />
<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble ofthis resolution are hereby in all things
<br />approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That the Solid Waste Implementation Grant for the period beginning September
<br />I, 2000, and ending August 31, 2001, in the total amount of $20,843.00, with the City of Paris
<br />providing $20,871.00 in the form of in kind services, be, and the same is hereby, accepted.
<br />
<br />Section 3. That the form of the "Solid Waste Implementation Grant, Contract No.
<br />14310768," attached hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved.
<br />
<br />Section 4. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf
<br />of the City of Paris, the "Solid Waste Implementation Grant, Contract No. 14310768," under the
<br />terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit, A attached hereto.
<br />
<br />Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of passage.
