<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-010 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN INTERLOCAL <br />GOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR COMMUNITY POLICING DRUG <br />ELIMINATION SERVICES WITH THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE <br />CITY OF PARIS; PROVIDING FOR SECURITY SERVICES BY AND <br />THROUGH THE PARIS POLICE DEPARTMENT; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funding for community policing and drug elimination and prevention services <br />has become available to the Housing Authority of the City of Paris through the Public and Indian <br />Housing Drug Elimination Program, and the Housing Authority has asked the City of Paris to furnish <br />said community policing drug elimination services by and through the Paris Police Department, and <br />it is deemed to be in the best interests of the residents of public housing that said services be <br />provided; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Interlocal Governmental Agreement for Community Policing Drug <br />Elimination Services between the City of Paris and the Housing Authority, attached hereto as Exhibit <br />A, should, in all things, be approved, and the City Manager, Michael E. Malone, should be <br />authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the form ofthe Interlocal Governmental Agreement for Community Policing <br />Drug Elimination Services between the City of Paris and the Housing Authority, attached hereto as <br />Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the City Manager, Michael E. Malone, be, and he is hereby, authorized and <br />directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Interlocal Governmental Agreement for the <br />provision of security services by and through the Paris Police Department, upon the terms and <br />conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. <br /> <br />Section 4, That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day ofFcbru ,2000. <br /> <br />/: -l~~ .
