<br />INTERLOCAL GOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR COMMUNITY POLICING <br />DRUG ELIMINATION SERVICES <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF PARIS AND <br />THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PARIS <br /> <br />STATE OF TEXAS <br /> <br />) <br />) <br />) <br /> <br />KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: <br /> <br />COUNTY OF LAMAR <br /> <br />THAT, the CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, a municipal corporation, acting by and <br /> <br />through its City Manager, Michael E. Malone, duly authorized, hereinafter called CITY, and the <br /> <br />HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, a public housing authority, acting <br /> <br />by and through its Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Curtis Fendley, duly authorized, <br /> <br />hereinafter called PHA, do hereby contract and agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. CITY covenants and agrees that it will furnish community policing drug elimination <br /> <br />services, in addition to ordinary police patrol services currently furnished to PHA, to consist of <br /> <br />one (1) police officer, certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards, <br /> <br />who has been trained in multi-ethnic cultural and sensitivity training, with personal communication <br /> <br />pack, and one (1) fully equipped and marked police patrol unit for one thousand five hundred and <br /> <br />thirty-four (1,534) hours for the contract period. Hours are to be scheduled weekly as agreed <br /> <br />between the Chief, Paris Police Department, and the Executive Director of the Housing Authority, <br /> <br />or her designee, and reduced to a written schedule in the form of Exhibit A, attached hereto, and <br /> <br />the schedule may be amended upon agreement of the same parties. <br /> <br />2. CITY also agrees to provide officers to attend monthly meetings of the residents' <br /> <br />organization council, which said officers will consist of the Crime Prevention Officer, the Police <br /> <br />Athletic League Officer, and the Drug Abuse Resistance Education Officer.
