<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING GRANT AWARD FOR "FY 2000-2001 SOLID
<br />WASTE IMPLEMENTATION GRANT"; AUTHORIZING THE
<br />EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. 04310768; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS
<br />AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN
<br />EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 4th day of
<br />November, 1999, in Resolution No. 99-132, authorize an application to be made to the Ark-Tex
<br />Council of Governments, in cooperation with the Texas Natural Resource Conservation
<br />Commission, for the Regional Solid Waste Grant Funding for Fiscal Year 2000-2001; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Ark- Tex Council of Governments has issued its Grant A ward, entitled,
<br />"Solid Waste Implementation Grant, Contract No. 043] 0768," for the period beginning February
<br />1,2000 and ending January 31, 2001, in the total amount of $26,975.00, with the City of Paris
<br />providing $46,730.56 in the form of in-kind services; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City
<br />of Paris accept said Grant A ward and continue to improve the waste reduction and recycling
<br />program in the City of Paris; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the form of the "Solid Waste Implementation Grant, Contract No.
<br />04310768," attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, ill all things, be approved, and the Mayor,
<br />Charles H. Neeley, should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That the Solid Waste Implementation Grant for the period beginning February
<br />1,2000, and ending January 31,2001, in the total amount of $26,975,00, with the City of Paris
<br />providing $46,730.56 in the form of in kind services, be, and the same is hereby, accepted; and,
<br />
<br />Section 3. That the form of the "Solid Waste Implementation Grant, Contract No.
<br />04310768," attached hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved; and,
<br />
<br />Section 4. That the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, be, and he is hereby, authorized and
<br />directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the "Solid Waste Implementation Grant,
<br />Contract No. 04310768," under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit, A
<br />attached hereto.
