<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
<br />TO EXECUTE AND THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST TO A CONTRACT
<br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF PARIS AND FAMILY HAVEN CRISIS AND
<br />RESOURCE CENTER, INC., TO PROVIDE SERVICES UNDER A
<br />CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION GRANT TO THE CITY OF PARIS TO
<br />PREVENT AND PROSECUTE VIOLENT CRIME AGAINST WOMEN;
<br />MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE
<br />SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, has issued a grant award
<br />to the City of Paris entitled "Violent Crimes Against Women Unit" Grant, No. WF -98- V24-l3420,
<br />for the period beginning December I, 1999, and ending November 30, 2000, in the total amount of
<br />$73,284.00, requiring a matching contribution of $1,200,00 in cash and $23,955,00 in the form
<br />of in-kind services on the part of the City of Paris; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore, on the 10th day of May , 1999, in Resolution
<br />No. 99-049, authorize the acceptance of said grant; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, as part of the services to be provided under said grant, the City of Paris has
<br />identified the need to contract with Family Haven Crisis and Resource Center, Inc., to act as a
<br />service provider in aid of the aforesaid Criminal Justice Division Grant No. WF-98- V24-l3420, to
<br />provide services as specified in said proposed contract to women who are the victims of violent
<br />crime; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to approve and authorize the City Manager to enter
<br />into the aforesaid contract between the City of Paris and Family Haven Crisis and Resource Center,
<br />Inc, in furtherance of the grant purposes as set out in said agreement; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
<br />approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That the City Manager be, and is hereby, authorized to execute, and the City Clerk
<br />to attest to, a contract between the City of Paris and Family Haven Crisis and Resource Center, Inc.,
<br />a copy of which said contract is attached hereto as Exhibit A and for all purposes incorporated
<br />herein, to retain Family Haven Crisis and Resource Center, Inc. as a service provider in aid of
<br />Criminal Justice Division Grant No. WF -98- V24-13420 in working with representatives of the City
<br />of Paris Police Department to provide services to assist in the reduction and prosecution of violent
<br />crimes against women and to provide other services as set out in said agreement
