<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-046
<br />
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, AWARDING BID AND AUTHORIZING CONTRACT FOR
<br />THE PERFORMANCE OF SITE AND FOUNDATIONS AS PART OF THE
<br />CONSTRUCTION OF FIRE STATIONS NO. TWO AND FOUR; MAKING
<br />OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT;
<br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 13th day of
<br />December, 1999, in Resolution No. 99-151, approve the advertisement for bids for furnishing
<br />plant, labor, materials, and equipment, and for performing all work required for the "Fire Station
<br />No. Two, Located at 4050 Pine Mill Road Project," which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock
<br />p.m., Tuesday, January 25,2000; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 13th day of
<br />December, 1999, in Resolution No. 99-151, approve the advertisement for bids for furnishing
<br />plant, labor, materials, and equipment, and for performing all work required for the "Fire Station
<br />No. Four, Located at 24th Street S.E. and Jefferson Road Project," which bids were received until
<br />3:00 o'clock p.m., Tuesday, January 25,2000; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 14th day of
<br />February, 2000, reject all bids and authorize the project to be revised and rebid in the form of
<br />separate contracts for various portions of the project, which bids were received until 3 :000' clock
<br />p.m., Tuesday, the 28th day of March, 2000; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the best bid for the performance of that portion of the project dealing with
<br />Site and Foundations was made by Skinner Concrete Construction Co., of Paris, Texas, and it
<br />should be awarded the bid for the same; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the form of the contract for such construction work, attached hereto as
<br />Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor should be authorized to execute the
<br />same; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />
<br />Section I. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all
<br />things approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That the bid of Skinner Concrete Construction Co. for the performance of that
<br />portion of the project dealing with Site and Foundations for the construction of "Fire Station No.
<br />Two, Located at 4050 Pine Mill Road Project," and "Fire Station No. Four, Located at 24th Street
<br />S.E. and Jefferson Road Project," in the amount of $312,398.70, be, and the same is hereby,
