<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-056

<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS, AWARDING BID AND AUTHORIZING CONTRACT FOR THE
<br />PERFORMANCE OF METAL BUILDING SYSTEMS AS PART OF THE
<br />CONSTRUCTION OF FIRE STATIONS NO. TWO AND FOUR; MAKING OTHER
<br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING
<br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 13th day of December,
<br />1999, in Resolution No. 99-151, approve the advertisement for bids for furnishing plant, labor, materials,
<br />and equipment, and for performing all work required for the "Fire Station No. Two, Located at 4050 Pine
<br />Mill Road Project," which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock p.m., Tuesday, January 25,2000; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 13th day of December.
<br />1999, in Resolution No. 99-151, approve the advertisement for bids for furniShing plant, labor, materials,
<br />and equipment, and for performing all work required for the "Fire Station No. Four, Located at 24th
<br />Street S.E. and Jefferson Road Project," which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock p.m., Tuesday,
<br />January 25, 2000; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 14th day of February,
<br />2000, reject all bids and authorize the project to be revised and rebid in the form of separate contracts for
<br />various portions of the project, which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock p.m., Tuesday, the 28th day
<br />of March, 2000; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the best bid for the performance of that portion of the project dealing with Metal
<br />Building Systems was made by Harrison, Walker & Harper, of Paris, Texas, and it should be awarded
<br />the bid for the same; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the form of the contract for such construction work, attached hereto as Exhibit A,
<br />Should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor should be authorized to execute the same; NOW,
<br />THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS:
<br />
<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all things
<br />approved.
<br />
<br />Section 2, That the bid of Harrison, Walker & Harper for the performance of that portion of the
<br />project dealing with Metal Building Systems for the construction of "Fire Station No. Two, Located at
<br />4050 Pine Mill Road Project," and "Fire Station No. Four, Located at 24th Street S.E. and Jefferson Road
<br />Project," in the amount of $156,448.00, be, and the same is hereby, accepted and let conditioned upon
<br />said contractor meeting all of t,he terms and specifications included in the bid documents.
