<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-080

<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 2000-056; AWARDING
<br />THE BID AND AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACT FOR THE
<br />PERFORMANCE OF METAL BUILDING SYSTEMS AS PART OF THE
<br />CONSTRUCTION OF FIRE STATION NO. TWO; MAKING OTHER
<br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
<br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 13th day of
<br />December, 1999, in Resolution No. 99-151, approve the advertisement for bids for furnishing
<br />plant, labor, materials, and equipment, and for performing all work required for the "Fire Station
<br />No. Two Project, Located at 4050 Pine Mill Road," which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock
<br />p.m., Tuesday, January 25,2000; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 14th day of
<br />February, 2000, reject all bids and authorize the project to be revised and rebid in the form of
<br />separate contracts for various portions of the project, which bids were received until 3:00 0' clock
<br />p.m., Tuesday, the 28th day of March, 2000; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the best bid for the performance of that portion of the project dealing with
<br />metal building systems was made by Harrison, Walker & Harper of Paris, Texas, and it should
<br />be awarded the bid for the same; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council did, by prior Resolution No. 2000-056, award a single
<br />contractto Harrison, Walker & Harper of Paris, Texas, for constructing that portion of the project
<br />dealing with metal building systems for both Fire Station No.2, located at 4050 Pine Mill Road,
<br />and Fire Station No.4, located at 24th Street S.E. and Jefferson Road; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council has now determined it would be in the best interests of the
<br />City and the contractor to award separate contracts for metal building systems work on each
<br />separate fIre station project; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, having so determined the need for such separate contracts, the City Council
<br />further fInds and determines the prior resolution authorizing that portion of the project dealing
<br />with metal building systems as a single contract for performing such work on Fire Station No.2,
<br />located at 4050 Pine Mill Road, should be in all things repealed; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council further fmds and determines that a new resolution should
<br />be approved awarding the bid and authorizing the contract for the performance of metal building
<br />systems work to Harrison, Walker & Harper of Paris, Texas, for the performance of such work
<br />as part of the construction of Fire Station No.2, located at 4050 Pine Mill Road; and,
