MINUTES <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD MEETING <br />THURSDAY, AUGUST 25, 1992 <br />COX FIELD <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />1. The regularly scheduled meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Eric Clifford at 6:00 P.M. The following members <br />were present: <br />Eric Clifford, Chairman Larry Greb <br />J.W. Ashmore, Recorder Tony Daigle <br />The following members were absent: J.W. Harrison <br />Victor Abeles <br />J.B. Ritchey <br />Also in attendance: Dick Boots and Jim Collier. <br />2. The minutes of the December 5, 1991, meeting were presented <br />and accepted as written by unanimous vote. <br />3. Dick Boots reported on the current status of Airfield <br />Improvement Project. The City's budgeted portion of the <br />project has been spent during this budget period. <br />4. Mr. Boots reported on the status of A.W.O.S. The component <br />parts of the system are stored at Cox Field. The F.A.A. <br />states the system should be in operation by November 1, 1992. <br />5. The board reviewed and discussed the 1992 -93 budget. The main <br />item in the 11.9% cut was the asphalt overlay of the terminal <br />parking lot. <br />6. Guidance Sign Project: The F.A.A. requires lighted guidance <br />signs. We have been shown the specific signs that must be <br />lighted, and the cost will be covered by the same type of <br />grant as the current Airport improvements. The lighting <br />project must be completed by 1994. <br />7. Possible future improvement projects: (See attached letter of <br />June 1, 1992.) <br />B. New Business: See letter of March 9, 1992, concerning land <br />acquisition and documentation of the member of itinerant <br />operations within one year of the construction of the project. <br />The City will try to determine what increase in traffic of <br />larger Aircraft we could anticipate if the runway were <br />extended and stressed to accommodate such aircraft. <br />9.
