Page 2 <br />Jim Collier confirmed that each and all requests for permits are covered by the <br />required insurance. <br />It was moved by Vic Ressler that the board recommend approval of the listed <br />permits. Motion was seconded by Pam Campbell. There being no discussion, the <br />board voted unanimously to recommend approval of the permit requests to the City <br />Council. <br />4. Review F.A.A. Annual Inspection: Tommy Haynes discussed the results of the <br />June F.A.A. inspection. All recommendations have been corrected including <br />a painted stripe to show the parking area, and some painting on runway 05/23. <br />5. Status of 199611997 Airport Improvement Project. Dale Browne of Hayter <br />Engineering explained the status of rebidding the taxiway for hangar access <br />and culvert replacement. Also, we are bidding the terminal building at the <br />same time. Bids for both projects to be opened January 6, 1998. <br />6. Dale Browne also discussed the status of 1997 -1998 Airport Improvement <br />Project. This is the large grant to overlay the runway and other items. We <br />have held the pre- design meeting and engineering work is being done. <br />7. New Business: <br />A. Consideration should be given to raising and leveling the taxi area to <br />the rear of Jimmy Wrenn's hangar so as to make it possible to exit <br />aircraft to the rear of the hangar. <br />B. Request that the City resolve the question of the load- bearing capacity <br />of runway 35/17 for future planning. <br />C. It is recommended by the board that the City build another seven (7) <br />unit T hangar as soon as possible. There are currently five (5) people <br />on a waiting list with the possibility of more requests. <br />rder J.W. Ashmore <br />
