The May meeting had no minutes as
a quorum was not present.
Old Business:
1. Review of FAA regulation defieiencies on the lips off the runway 17 -35
edges
Mr. Collier reported that repair on the runway lips was completed by the
6/16/80 FAA deadline. However, new and deeper ruts made at the time the
runway was being repaired will not meet FAA standards. Board members
discussed their concern that the new ruts may be regarded as a failure to
comply with the June 16, 1980 FAA deadline for completion of repairs. This
deadline represented a 6 month extension that was granted after 18 months
of requests to repair deficiencies. A $1000.00 /day fine may be assessed for
each day of non- compliance following the 6/16/80 deadline.
A motion was made by Rick Rex that the Airport Advisory Board ask the City
Council to request that the City Manager supervise repair of the damaged
lips and runways so that FAA regulations can be met and the fine avoided.
The motion was seconded by Allie O'Brien and carried unanimously.
2. Discussion of disposal of three old T- Hangars.
Don Whitaker stated that three quarters of one hangar had been removed and
Jimmy Wrenn stated that all three hangars will be empty by 7/15/80.
3. Review fiscal 1980 -81 budget.
Mr. Collier reported that Airport Budget funds were cut. No funds were
allocated for the 80 Octane and 100 Octane tanks under the new ramp.
Fifteen thousand dollars was budgeted for burying the new 10,000.00 gallon
jet fuel tank, and matching City funds were appropriated for construction
of the new ramp if grant funding is approved in October 1980.
