MINUTES AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD MEETING TUESDAY, APRIL 25, 1989 COX FIELD TERMINAL PARIS, TEXAS 1. The Scheduled meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by chairperson Mrs. Greta Greb. The following members were present: Victor Abeles Greta Greb J. B. Ritchey Members absent: J.W. Ashmore and Cliff Lee Also in attendance: Dick Boots, Director of Community Facilities, Jim Collier, Airport Manager. 2. The minutes of the March 28, 1989, meeting were read and approved. 3. The proposed 1989 -90 Airport Budget was presented by Dick Boots. A copy was given to the members present. Seven capital outlay items were discussed. 4. A status report on the proposed master plan for Cox Field was presented by Dick Boots. City Staff met with two consulting firms and the firm of Bucher, Willis & Ratliff was selected. One week after the selection, the firm presented a proposal to the City of Paris. A resolution was passed by the City Council permitting City Staff to make application to the FAA and to hire on a contingency basis the firm of Bucher, Willis & Ratliff. 5. Mrs. Greb reported on the annual Airport Conference which she along with Dick Boots attended April 5 -6 -7, 1989. Mrs. Greb said that without the Part 139 Certificate which Cox Field operates under, the Federal Funding we are seeking would not be available to us. The main focus of the conference was directed to the larger Airports such as DFW International. Sam Russell of Mt. Pleasant has proposed a bill to the Legislature that would add a tax on aviation fuel in Texas. Hopefully, this tax will generate funding for Airports throughout the State. Mrs. Greb reported that the proposal to add the Texas Aeronautics Commission to the Department of Highways and Public Transportation is meeting a great deal of resistance. 6.
