k
3. Report on the balance of the oil royalty fund:
The balance of the fund is being spent to hook up the water
system at the airport.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. New Permits: One new permit has been requested
by Randell Stephens of Stephens Ag. Air, Inc. The advisory
board recommended to the city council the approval of the
permit request.
2. Airport Security: The advisory board moved unamiously
to recommend to the city council that full -time security be
provided at the airport during the hours of darkness.
Protective Services, Inc. of Sulphur Springs, Tx.
explained to the board the services they could provide and
their rates. (Cost of 12 hour security for 30 days would be
$2,430.00) The advisory council suggested the company contact
the city council regarding their service and fee schedule.
While the committee is in agreement that full -time
security is necessary during the hours of darkness at the
airport, how the security is to be provided can best be
determined by the city council. It seems reasonable to expect
a substantial reduction in insurance premiums if security
is provided as recommended. It might be possible to hire
an additional city police officer to patrol the airport during
the hours of darkness. This option might be compared to
the cost of contract survices and the amount realized from
an insurance premium reduction.
The next meeting of the advisory board is scheduled
on Feb. 26, 1985, at 6:00 p.m. at the Cox Field terminal.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
k
