After discussion on MOGAS sales the Board took no action due to fear of the
liability which they would incur from the sale of auto gas.
Mr. Rex asked Mr. Collier to explain the procedure for taking bids on AVGAS
and jet fuel for Cox Field. Mr. Rex noted the City, when taking bids, looked
at the price and service offered by a company. After listening to Mr. Collier's
explaination of bid letting procedures, the Advisory Board noted there is no
way to get a fixed price bid from any oil company.
Joe Burress recommended Jim Collier contact all local fuel dealers and ask if
they wished to participate in bidding on fuel sales at Cox Field. The Board
agreed that this practice should be followed at least once a year and wished
Mr. Collier would report on the matter at the next board meeting.
2. Call for items for next agenda: Mr. Rex asked that two items be placed
on the agenda under OLD BUSINESS:
1. Report from Jim Collier on local fuel suppliers and their wish to
bid on fuel sales at Cox Field.
2. Report on balance in Airport royality fund.
3. Financial Report: The Board briefly studied the October budget report.
4. Actions of City Council: Mr. Boothe asked what action the City Council
had taken on the Boxwell - Sadler F.B.O. proposal. Mr. Collier noted that
Mr. Boxwell was no longer involved in the F.B.O. plans. The City Council
had not taken any action on Mr. Sadler's F.B.O. offer.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Airport Promotion Plans - Mr. Burress reported the Chamber of Commerce
had not met yet.
Bryan Haygood, Eagle Airline pilot announced that he was starting a small
package delivery service in Paris.
NEW BUSINESS
1. New Permits - No new permits.
2. Annual Review of Permits - Mr. Collier announced only five permit holders
had applied for renewal. Mr. Rex suggested Mr. Collier read aloud the permit
holders names and the types of permits they wished to be renewed. He suggested
the Board vote on the group as a whole except the permit held by Mr. Boothe,
Airport Advisory Board member. Mr. Boothe's permit was to be voted on separately.
Mr. Collier presented the following: Eagle Air - renewal of a permit for
passenger and cargo permits. Aero Dust and Spray - Jim Wrenn - Renewal of
permits for: 1. Pilot training and Aircraft Rental, 2. Maintenance of
Airframes, 3. Maintenance of Power Plants, 4. Agricultrual Operations.
Roger Boxwell - Paris Center Aviation - Renewal of permits for: 1. Maintenance
of Airframes, 2. Maintenance of Power Plants.
Austin Ellis - Renewal of a permit for Pilot Training and Aircraft.
Joe Burress made a motion that the permits of the four be renewed. Dr. Keller
seconded the motion. Motion passed 4 to 0 with Mrs. Campbell not voting.
Ir
