MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION <br />Tuesday, January 20, 2004 <br />4:00 P.M. <br />1. Chad Brown called the Building and Standards Commission Meeting to <br />order at 4:OOP.M. <br />2. Roll was called. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Chad Brown Mary Crumpler <br />Patrick Brown Pike Burkhart <br />Brad Archer <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Tommy Robinson Mark Rothfuss <br />Billy Hill Ward Hall <br />Lucius Joe, Jr. Harrell Tippitt <br />3. Approval of Minutes of November 17, 2003: <br />A motion was made by Pike Burkhart to approve the meeting minutes, and Mary <br />Crumpler seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. <br />4. Public hearing to consider presentations by Code Inspector of the City of <br />Paris, and owner(s) and / or lien holders of the below listed properties which <br />have been given notice of a violation of City Ordinance that structures need <br />to be demolished because of fire damage: <br />A. 254 5a' Street SE, Lot Pt. of 9 & Pt. of 10, Block B, Finn Place <br />Addition <br />Mr. Ken Cannon, the Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church, was present <br />to represent the property Owner, First Baptist Church. First Baptist has <br />recently gained possession of the property and they have asked for 90 days <br />to demolish the structure. Mr. Cannon stated that 1/3 of the project will be <br />completed every 30 days to comply with the request of 90 days. First <br />Baptist will be using donated labor from members to complete the <br />demolition. Mike Alexander recommended approval of the request. <br />Mary Crumpler made a motion that the building be demolished within 90 <br />days without any civil penalties.
