MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, APRIL 169 2007 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. Chad Brown called the Building and Standards Commission Meeting to order at 4:00 <br />P.M. <br />Roll was called. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Mary Crumpler <br />Chad Brown <br />David Nabors <br />Vicki Ballard <br />Stephen Brown, Alternate <br />Zach Saffle, Alternate <br />Scott Scholz, Alternate <br />Chris Brown, Alternate <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Brad Archer <br />Harrell Tippitt <br />In the absence of Brad Archer, the Chairman appointed Mary Crumpler as Acting Secretary <br />for the meeting. The Chairman also stated that alternates would be acting in a voting <br />capacity for the purpose of the meeting. <br />2. Approval of Minutes of previous meeting: <br />A motion was made by David Nabors, seconded by Mary Crumpler, to approve the meeting <br />minutes for February 19, 2007. The motion carried 7 -0. <br />3. Public Hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and owner(s) <br />and /or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of a violation <br />of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, <br />entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures ": <br />C. 906 Dickson; Lot 6, City Block 51 - Mary Post, 7753 FM 195, has spoken with <br />roofing contractors to take care of the roof and remove the wood to open the porch <br />back up. She stated she had the house inspected by a master carpenter, and he told <br />her the house was still structurally sound. There are also five layers of roofing <br />materials on it. Motion was made by David Nabors, seconded by Steven Brown, to <br />allow 90 days to repair or demolish. If the repairs are not made within 90 days, the <br />City may demolish, with a$ 1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Vicki Ballard arrived at 4:15 p.m. <br />G. 2526 19th Street N.W.; Lot 23, City Block 297 - Mary Lee Byrum, 2525 19th <br />Street N.W., stated she was going to tear off the porch, cover the windows, and use <br />the house for storage. Lisa Wright advised Ms. Byrum she would need to confirm <br />
