Minutes, <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday October 03, 2017 at 5:15 PM. in the <br />Municipal Courtroom with the following r-nen,ibers present, - <br />1. <br />Wendell Moore <br />2, <br />Sally Boswell (518pm) <br />3. <br />John Eyler <br />4. <br />Biil Sanders <br />5, <br />Dennrs Ashby <br />The city staff was represented by Asst, Chief Randy Tuttle and pity Engineer <br />Caria Easton. <br />Vice -Chairperson John Eyler ca. led the meeting to order at 5-1 prn, A quorum was <br />established with five members present. Sally Boswell arrived at 518pm. <br />Mr. Eyler then moved to item #2 regarding approving minutes from the <br />September 05, 2'017 meeting. Mr. Moore made, a motion to approve minutes from <br />September 05, 2017 meeting and second was made by Mr. Ashby. Motion: <br />carried 4-0. <br />Mr. Eyler then moved to item #3 regarding discussion and possible action <br />concerning traffic at S. Collegiate and Loop 286. Mr. Sanders informed members <br />that he had received complaints concerning S. Collegiate Street from the Trall de <br />Paris crossing north to the Loop regarding confusion about the turn lane <br />markings on Collegiate and there being no turn lane at S. Collegiate and Loop <br />286. Ms. Easton informed members that the turn lane markings on the road were <br />rneant to inform motorists that the lane was a turn lane, Mr. Sanders remarked <br />that the markings seemed to be in an area where there was no driveway to turn <br />into which was confusing. Ms. Easton also advised rnembers that there was no <br />turn lane at S. Collegiate and Loop 286 because S, Collegiate was a five lane, <br />road which intersected wlth a one lane county road and because of the low <br />volume of traffic no left turn lane was needed. After discussion it was decided by <br />consensus of mernbers to request Ms. Easton explore the possibility of <br />refreshing the striping of the center lane on S. Collegiate at Loop 286 and extend <br />the gore north in, the center lane. Ms. Easton also stated she would request the <br />city traffic department place lane marking signs on S. Collegiate approaching the <br />intersection. It was also requested that change in placement of turn arrows in <br />center lane be considered. <br />Mr. Eyler then moved to item #4 regarding old business. Mr. Tuttle informed <br />members that the request for a stop sign at 7" NE & Williams St. had been <br />
