an= MINIMUM 17111111 11 M LVI Mly.111 WHEREAS, the City of Paris participates in several purchasing cooperatives that allow us the advantage of competitive bidding across the state; and, WHEREAS, the Texas Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) is a cooperative program administered by Region VIII Education Service Center that can be used by school districts, colleges, universities, cities, counties and other public agencies to assist with competitive bidding of goods and services; and, WHEREAS, membership in TIPS is free but requires an Interlocal Agreement for public entities in Texas to participate; and, WHEREAS, the City Council hereby approves a resolution authorizing the city manager to enter an Interlocal Agreement with Region VIII Education Services Center to participate in the Texas Interlocal Purchasing System Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 0 PARIS, TEXAS: I Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. ,Section 2. That the Interlocal Agreement between the City of Paris and Region VIII Education Service Center to participate in the Texas Interlocal Purchasing System Program, attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A", be, and the, same is hereby approved. Section 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Interlocal Agreement with the Region VIII Education Service Center substantially in accordance with the form of the Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit "A", Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. PASSED AND APPROVED this 11th day of December, 20117.
