<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-175 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO PREPARE <br />PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE REPAIR OF THE GATEWAY <br />PROJECT ENTRY SIGN AT THE SOUTH ENTRANCE TO PARIS; <br />AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FORBIDS FOR SAID PROJECT; <br />MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE <br />SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Gateway Project entry sign located at the south entrance to Paris was <br />partially destroyed when it was struck by a vehicle on May 30, 2001; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris has recovered the estimated cost of the damages from both <br />its own and the responsible driver's insurance carriers, and it is deemed appropriate that the City <br />Engineer prepare plans and specifications and that the City advertise for bids for the repair of said <br />sign; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the City Engineer be, and he is hereby, directed to prepare plans and <br />specifications for the repair of the Gateway Project entry sign located at the south entrance to <br />Paris. <br /> <br />Section 3. That such repair project be advertised for bids to be received after due notice <br />at the office of the City Manager of the City of Paris, City Hall, 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Texas <br />75460, until 3:00 o'clock p.m. on the 6th day of November, 2001, at which time said bids will <br />be opened in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Lamar County, <br />Texas, and bids will be tabulated and presented to the City Council for the purpose of letting such <br />bid. <br /> <br />Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of passage. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this 4th day of October, 2001. <br /> <br />
