<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-166 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, INCREASING THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS ON THE <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD TO NINE (9); MAKING OTHER FINDINGS <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council ofthe City of Paris did heretofore, in Resolution No. 1354, <br />establish an Airport Advisory Board to act in an advisory capacity to the City Council in relation <br />to the Municipal Airport and its operation and facilities, which Board originally consisted of seven <br />members; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on January 8, 1973, in <br />Resolution No. 1538, reduce the membership of the Board to five (5) members; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council ofthe City of Paris did heretofore, on November 11, 1974, <br />in Resolution No. 1646, expand the membership of the Board to seven (7) members; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on December 8, 1975, <br />in Resolution No. 1722, reduce the membership of the Board to five (5) members; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on August 14, 1989, in <br />Resolution No. 89-095, expand the membership of the Board to seven (7) members, which has <br />remained the membership of the Board to this time; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore direct the City Attorney <br />to conduct a survey of various airports around Texas to determine their various methods of <br />operation, leasing policies, hangar rentals, and size of advisory board, among other things; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on August 13, 2001, <br />based on the results of said survey and the recommendations of the Airport Advisory Board, direct <br />the Legal Department to take necessary steps to expand the membership of the Airport Advisory <br />Board to nine (9) members, and the City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the City of <br />Paris that said Board be expanded to consist of a chairman and eight (8) members; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br />
