COM 17-1444 Fencing. Ms. Beavers presented pictures Q1'1he ayistingftnce and <br />documentation noting they are working together with the adjacent property owners to <br />ince in the alley between the Rickety Split Wine Bar, 15 SE P Street and Paris <br />Community Theatre Brown Center. She explained theftnce was parallel with the street <br />and was attached with 4 screvvs. Chairman Dux asked wvky aft nce was needed, Mr. <br />Paras explained tire, fence isneeded per- 7ABC fbrprivatc clubs who, are not serer ingover <br />51 %,food. Commissioner Dux noted that the design standards state unless there is <br />evidence Ql"existing fences, then no fence should be installed in the commercial district, <br />however he knows of at least 2 that have been installed since the standards were <br />developed, Ile, also cautioned the commission qfthe importance to,161lo-VI), the design <br />standards so not to give personal opinion. Commissioner Dux stated that it is not the <br />commission's intention to hurt business, but to protect the district and its assets. After <br />discussion ql'thephysical fiatures of the existing.lence including the attachment, pad <br />locks etc, a motion ii,,as made by Commissioner Hider to approve the fence as temporary <br />installation, with the condition it be removed immediately if wine lounge location <br />changes. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Emmite. Motion Carried 3 -1, <br />Commissioner Vandiver dissented, <br />B. COA#1 7-1443- facade restoration, 36 W. Plaza, The MQffitts presented their copies of <br />renderings from the Texas Historical Commission Main Street Design Architects. <br />Commissioner Duy commended them for doing their homework on restoration of the <br />ftont,faq,ade, with historical accuracy. The Mql <br />fitts are planning on unbricking the <br />upper windows on thefi-ont.facade, and replacing them blanker panels to replicate <br />
