PARIS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION MONTHLY MEETING Board Members Present: Richard Manning, Chairman Marion Hamill, Vice-Chain-nan Tim Hernandez, Secretary/Treasurer Ray Banks Ex -Officio Members Present: John Godwin, City Manager Legal Counsel: Stephanie flarris, City Attorney Call to Order. Paris City Council Chambers 107 East Kaufman St. Paris, Texas 75460 Fridav, November 10, 2017 9:30 O'CLOCK A.M. Staff Present: Michael Paris, Executive Director Chris Stout, Economic Development Associate Paula Brownfield, Administrative Assistant Guest(s) Present: Mary Madewell, The Paris News Deanna Manning, Citizen City Council Liaison: Paula Portugal, City Council Mr. Manning called the meeting of the Paris Economic Development Corporation to order at 9:30 a.m. on November 10, 2017, Citizens' Input Mr. Manning invited those present to speak during Citizens' Input, Paula Portugal, the City Council Liaison, came forward to speak. Ms. Portugal thanked the Board for letting her be the Council Liaison. She went on to say that last month she attended the TEDC Sales Tax Workshop in Mesquite, which was an excellent learning experience. The workshop identified both the Type A and Type B sales tax and how each can be used. There were experts that discussed what the EDC can and cannot do with the sales tax, Ms. Portugal ended by thanking the Board for the opportunity to go to the Sales Tax Workshop. Mr. Manning asked if anyone else would like to speak. No one came forward. Discuss and possibly approve Minutes of the October 20, 201.7, Monthly Meetinz Mr. Manning asked if everyone had looked at the minutes. Mr. Manning made a motion to accept the October 20, 2017, minutes as presented, Mr. Banks seconded the motion. Vote was 4 -ayes to 0 -nays. Discuss and possibly a2prove October 2017 Financials, The October financials had not been received. We will have them on next months agenda.
